John A.B.C. Smith, einigen sicherlich noch von der Band SCANNER bekannt, ist ein Phänomen in der Musikszene. Seine Person ist mit der des "Phönix aus der Asche" gleichzusetzen. Wie aus heiterem Himmel tauchte er 1992 im Proberaum der Band Scanner auf und gab ein einzigartiges Bass-Solo zum besten, welches aufzeigte, daß eine selbstbewusste Persönlichkeit auf dem Weg ist musikalische Mauern einzureißen. Da das Material des Allroundtalents bei Scanner (außer "Puppets on a String" und "Where my fortune lies") hier nie so recht angenommen wurde, verließ er die Band und war wieder in der Versenkung verschwunden. Dies war jedoch nur augenscheinlich der Fall, in Wirklichkeit entstand in dieser Zeit das Album "The Revelation of John", welches in seiner Art wohl ziemlich einzigartig ist. Auf der CD des aus dem ehemaligen Jugoslawien stammenden Workaholics, herrschen haufenweise IRON MAIDEN und PINK FLOYD Einflüsse vor, dennoch hat man zu keinem Zeitpunkt den Eindruck, dass es sich um ein billiges Plagiat handelt. Erst nach den Aufnahmen zu "The Revelation of John" machte sich JOHN auf die Suche nach fähigen Musikern, die ihre Profilneurosen ausleben wollen, so das man dieses Projekt auch live bewundern kann.
Wer gute Rockmusik nicht verachtet, dem werden Stücke wie "Death is just the beginning" (Ur-Version des Songs "Gallows Pole") "Strawberry Fields" und "Messiah Supreme" gefallen. Diese sowie die anderen Songs sind in sehr atmosphärischen Instrumentals eingebettet, so dass es zu keinem Zeitpunk langweilig wird.

"JOHN A.B.C. SMITH" is a phenomenon. Most of us he is known as a former member of bands like SCANNER and GALLOWS POLE.
As an artist he can only be compared with the "Phoenix from the ashes".
All of sudden he came into the sight, and with his extraordinary talents and playing the bass guitar he was hired and joined the band SCANNER in 1992.
Four years later his musical personality was remarkable.
Though successful he quit the band to persue his own musical- and personal career plans.
He took a time off, writing and composing songs for his new album "The Revelation of John".
Now he was back again.
JOHN, who is strong influenced by IRON MAIDEN and PINK FLOYD wrote and produced songs that will stand the comparison with his musical idols and show his musical talents
After the recording session of the album, JOHN put the live band together and he choose the musicans very carefully, because he wanted the atmosphere of the studio-album as close as possible on the live-stage too.
